Someone said once "Don't hang your dirty laundry in public" or something to that effect. WHY you would hang dirty laundry, instead of clean laundry to dry, is beyond me- but what I can tell from that statement is... there's no need to talk about anything too personal. Welcome to the diary of generic girly thoughts.

2001-05-22 - 11:40 p.m. - letter to teacher-convo

i am madder than hell about this convo-swiping.

I decided t write my teacher a persuasive, and firm letter about my feelings toward her taking something that rightfully belonged to me.

Dear Mrs. Hername,

I would like to give you a few reasons why you should give me my papers back.

1. I understand that you are angry about the "mega-****" (I didn't actually write out the word, i really used stars) comment in it. I assure you that I have never you called you that, nor will I ever call you that. I heard it from some eighth graders and only mentioned it because that was the subject, 'music teachers'

2. Everything besides that comment had nothing to do with school whatsoever. The conversation took place completely outside of school hours. I don't think it is fair for the school to even get invovled, seeing as it had nothing to do with them anyway.

3. This one I just cannot stress enough. It was MY PERSONAL PROPERTY that I have the right to do what I want with. It was totally unfair of you to suppose, that, just because you are teacher, and I student, that you can abuse your authority by taking what was not rightfully yours. It was not being disruptive, innapropriate or abusive to anyone, and you had absolutly no reason to suspect me or anyone else that was around me at the time. And although in school you may be above me, as citizens of the United States of America we are both created equal, which entiltes us to the same rights. You had no right to force me to give you those papers. Especially when you had no logical reason for wanting to see them besides the fact that two other people were reading them.

In conclusion, i'd like to ask you to return MY PERSONAL PROPERTY that had NOTHING TO DO WITH SCHOOL whatsoeve, and let me inform you again that I am very sorry about that comment I made about you, it was wrong.

I apologize for the harshness of this letter, but as you can see I am ver angry about the taking, reading, abusing and exploiting of something that belonged to me, something that I have the right to decide what is to be done with it.

Sincerely,

Liz Mylastname
