PRINT, GOSHDARNIT!

It won't print. Project due tomorrow- more of an essay actually. For music class, we had to write about one of our favorite songs and we're going to have to play it for the class.

Music Essay

Events in life often inspire people to produce phenomenal works of art, the kind of art that originates within one�s soul. Passion is the brush that splatters colorful thoughts, feelings, fears and hopes across the doubting and torturous canvas of life. After her miscarriage, Tori Amos wrote �Spark�, and other songs on her fourth album, �The Choirgirl Hotel�. She composed the music and the lyrics all on her own, each word and note succeeding straight from her shattered heart and broken spirit. She has performed Spark numerous times on many different stages. Myra Ellen �Tori� Amos was born in Newton, North Carolina, and she currently resides in England. The genre of her music is alternative.

Spark, on the outside, seems to be about nicotine, glaciers, babies, and ballerinas with fins. After gaining knowledge of Amos�s past life, one comes to realize that she couldn�t possibly be describing such random and nonchalant things. One lyric which is very significant is, �she's convinced she could hold back a glacier, but she couldn't keep Baby alive, doubting if there's a woman in there somewhere...,�. It describes how strong she wishes to appear on the outside, and doubts that she could be any sort of a woman due to her baby�s death. Another important lyric is, � if the Divine master plan is perfection, maybe next I'll give Judas a try, trusting my soul to the ice cream assassin,�. It is basically saying, if God wants her baby to be dead, then she is going to go against Him and side with Judas. She can�t trust a God that could kill her child with her soul. �Ballerinas with fins that you�ll never find...,� seems to mean that nothing is as it appears, and things never turn out the way people plan them to. Spark is truly a moving song with many mixed emotions and meanings. I chose this song because the music is beautiful, and so are the lyrics. It is obvious to see that Tori Amos is not just another �pop� singer. She writes her own lyrics and songs on the piano, and performs them. Her pieces are true works of art, with radiant thoughts, feelings, fears and hopes, cascading from the brush of passion onto the canvas of her life.

Well, since I am on a stupid iMac, it won't print, so I am taking Conor's idea and e-mailing it to myself (school account), then printing it in the morning at school. Oh... I really hope this works, I have a dreaded feeling it won't...

Okay, so some stuff happened today that I won't write about. Maybe, sometime, when this is all said and done, I'll give you the whole story. But, not now.

Bruno Stoekl is a horrible, lying, cheating, ugly, dirty rat, and he should rot in hell.

I hate him.

And, I also hate saying the word "fuck", but it was said today many a time, in a letter I wrote to Abbie, not directed at her, but at the situation. Ahhh.. what a wonderful situation it is, the only reason I stay in it is because there are bad times, but the bad times are totally worth living through once you get to the good times.

Maturity is a prime factor, and many people, boys my age in general, (Yes, I said BOYS, you're all BOYS, more like toddlers, socially/intellectally)
